With the coming of the New Year, also comes the chance to partner up with some new companies.
We would like to take this opportunity to announce some of my new sponsors moving forward into 2010.

Check out the new website or stop by the store in Atlanta for all your triathlon needs.

Exposure to UV radiation and skin care is something I have always taken seriously. Even more so after having had a melanoma removed this year. SCAPE sunscreen is a good partnership for me.

Body Science or BSc is an Australian Company that makes compression garments and nutritional products. BSc were a sponsor of mine earlier in my career, and it’s great to be working together again.

Anyone who saw the recent Ironman coverage in NBC would have seen the new ad for Road ID. They are also a new sponsor and a great company to work with, as they are passionate about personal safety.

After 5 great years with Orbea I am pleased to say that we have just agreed to a long term contract extension that will see me through to the end of my career riding Orbea and wearing Orca apparel/wetsuits.

Christmas: come and gone by craig08

All of a sudden I blinked and Christmas has come and gone for another year. It was great fun with the kids, and we managed to get away from Sydney for a few days up the north coast of NSW visiting family. We also decided to drop in to Port Macquarie, home of Pete Murray triathlon race commentator, for his surprise 40th birthday bash.

The big milestone for our family in the beginning of 2010 will be February 4th, when Lucy starts school here in Cronulla. She is starting young at 4 1/2 years, but after much discussion with the school and Principal, we feel she is truly ready !! It’s a big move to pull Lucy out of school after first term to travel overseas, but we feel with distance education and the world experience gained through travel we think this is the right decision for our family. We will return in October for her to finish 4th term and the school year. She is very excited and is counting down the weeks til day one.

Not being in the USA at the present we missed the NBC coverage of the Hawaiian Ironman this year on Dec 19th. We have had lots of feedback and emails and look forward to seeing it aired on Australian tv soon.

New Years Eve is just days away and then the 2010 racing season will be upon me. I have been working on a 2010 race schedule. It’s not 100% finalized but is gradually taking shape. We will be heading back to the USA in late April and will be arriving back to our base in Boulder again in mid May.

I have a brief trip planned back to the USA at the end of January for the Endurance Sports Awards in San Diego. I would like to start the year the same as I did last year with the Geelong IM 70.3, but I have had more time off after Kona than last year, so I will see how training progresses over the next month.

We are very excited as we just took delivery of our personalized T3 recovery mattresses here in Australia. Lucy can’t yet understand why her name is on her mattress !!! She is becoming quite the sponsored athlete as she just received a pair of mini normatec recovery boots. Gilad from Normatec was so impressed with Lucys effort at the Keiki Dip’n’dash race in Kona that he immediately added her to his roster of sponsored athletes !!!

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and have a healthy and safe New Years,

from my family to yours,
